About Me

My Story

Multi-skilled, Reliable and Creative

Ever since my school days, I’ve harboured a deep passion for media, encompassing both film and photography. This interest steered me towards a role as an ICT Technician during my college years. Since then, I’ve been honing my skills and expanding my expertise within the digital realm. I derive great satisfaction from assisting others and have supported various endeavours, including youth work, event organisation, and media-related projects. As part of the media team at my local church, I volunteer my abilities and concurrently serve as a Digital Support Officer at Nottingham City Council.

Photography

My passion for photography spans various subjects, from holidays to events, and personal moments to festivals. I’ve captured images for churches, local groups, and charities, including taking snapshots for a gallery to promote Artcore’s open day and the Erewash Museum to highlight the venue and feature the church. Personally, I am drawn to photographing landscapes, the peculiar and unusual, the enigmatic, and wildlife.

Talent Promotion:

(Young Voices Studio) From 1999 to 2007, I developed several websites to highlight talent. Initially a hobbyist fan site, it gained popularity as the featured actors became more recognized. The site evolved alongside the growing fame of these stars, forging a connection between British fans and the celebrities.

Derbyshire Library

At Ilkeston Library, I offered user support to the public, assisting with hardware and software issues. I provided computer training to all age groups, with a particular focus on teaching the older generation how to use computers, including keyboard and mouse skills and internet searching.

Volunteering

Quad, Museum and general

In my role as a steward, I have had the opportunity to work at a variety of events ranging from large-scale festivals and carnivals to smaller workshops and museum events. My responsibilities have included managing information helpdesks, supervising workshops, and providing general door and gate stewarding. I have also provided support to clients by offering information, signposting, and other assistance as needed. In addition, I have been responsible for ensuring that the event space is properly prepared and ready for attendees.

My Experience

I’ve Worked With Amazing Companies, Organisations and Charities

Click, Connect, Create project. A 6 week session on using camera, poetry and writing to showcase works. Final day was exhibition at Erewash Museum gallery

I have a deep passion for the arts and am committed to creating opportunities for talented individuals to display their abilities. As the Vice Chair of the steering group for Arts Erewash, I aim to establish a venue in Ilkeston that will accommodate various artistic disciplines such as theatre, dance, drama, and music. Despite Ilkeston’s wealth of talent, there is a shortage of platforms for these individuals to present their work. I am convinced that a dedicated arts space would be a significant asset to the community.

Furthermore, I am involved with the IMC Together Group at Ilkeston Methodist Church, where our goal is to unite the community and the arts. We plan to erect a new building that will host both church and community events. Contributing to this initiative fills me with pride and happiness.

My affection for the media industry has been unwavering. I’ve participated in numerous projects, from promoting emerging talent to delving into the intricacies of film production. I am keen to continually expand my knowledge of the industry and keep abreast of the latest developments, such as release dates, actors, and production details. Enjoying documentaries about actors and the film industry is one of my hobbies, and I make it a point to celebrate actors’ achievements and stay informed about current movie news.
